Wellness
The purpose of the Great Valley School District Food and Nutrition Services is to provide the students and school community with nutritious, innovative, and reliable food programs that support the district-wide efforts to foster professionalism, learning, and sustainability.
Great Valley School District recognizes that student wellness and proper nutrition are related to a student's physical well-being, growth, development, and readiness to learn. The Board (Policy 246) is committed to providing a school environment that promotes student wellness, proper nutrition, nutrition education, and regular physical activity as part of the total learning experience. In a healthy school environment, students will learn about and participate in positive dietary and lifestyle practices that can improve student achievement.

Wellness Policy Assessment
Federal regulations at 7 CFR 210.31 require local education agencies (LEAs) participating in the National School Lunch Program to complete an assessment of their local school wellness policy at least once every three years and make the results available to the public. This triennial assessment must measure the implementation of the local school wellness policy. See the GVSD Wellness Assessment.
