  • Additional Events Added to GVSD Speaker Series

    New events have been added to the GVSD Speaker Series! We look forward to working with our community partner, Be a Part of the Conversation, as well as with the Crime Victims’ Center of Chester County, Inc. and with Dr. Ken Ginsburg. All events in the Speaker Series are free and open to the community, but registration is required in advance.

  • Long-Time Administrator to Retire

    Charles E. Linderman, Director of Business Affairs for the Great Valley School District, announced his retirement in November 2018, following a nearly 40-year tenure in the District.

  • School Board Approves 2019-2020 District Calendar

    At its meeting on December 3, the Great Valley Board of School Directors approved a District calendar for the 2019-2020 school year.

  • District Names Wall of Fame Inductees

    As part of its Homecoming celebration on Fri., Oct. 19, the Great Valley School District inducted four outstanding alumni to its Wall of Fame. Wall of Fame Inductees for 2018 are: Mike Green (Class of 1970); Tony and Debbie DiAntonio (Class of 1974 and Class of 1975); and Celeste McMichael Rolfing (Class of 1976).

  • February School Board Meeting Calendar
    The February work session of the School Board, previously scheduled for 2/11, has been moved to 2/19. The regular meeting of the Board is now scheduled for 2/25. (Note that the 2/25 meeting is now the voting meeting for this month.) In addition, the Instructional Technology Subcommittee meeting is now scheduled for 2/19. Please see the District calendar for additional information.

Considering Full-Day Kindergarten

    The District has initiated a process to consider the implementation of a full-day kindergarten program in Great Valley. The process will include a careful study of research, an examination of impacts (financial, facilities, and educational program), and opportunities for parents and community members to provide input and feedback. A special section of this website will be dedicated to the consideration of full-day kindergarten over the next few months.
