The Great Valley School District Speaker Series will return during the 2020-2021 school year with events that will focus on both the physical and mental well-being of the community. In partnership with local community organizations and mental health experts, the Speaker Series will offer evening virtual learning opportunities for parents, staff, and the community.
Topics this year will include:
Coping with COVID and Embracing Isolation
Positive Parenting Strategies to Help Manage Anxiety and Worry
Cannabis: It’s Complicated
The District is once again formally partnered with Be a Part of the Conversation, a local non-profit organization that addresses substance use, misuse and addiction and its impact on individuals and their families by building a culture of awareness and support.
In addition to the partnership with Be a Part of the Conversation, the District is also working to add presentations to help parents identify warning signs or stress, anxiety, depression and crisis in their children and themselves.
All events will be open to the community and free of charge, but registration in advance will be required. Watch for more information on the District’s website and Facebook page.
