Principal's Corner -

Dear Charlestown Parents,

Charlestown has been busy the last two weeks.  See below for some of the events that have occurred or will be happening tomorrow.

  • Due to snow and school being closed I want everyone to know that the last student day is Friday, June 14th.
  • Last week, Charlestown First Graders finished out their trip of traveling around the world by listening to several Great Valley High School Students who came over and talk to the students about the countries where they came from or countries they have a special interest in.
  • Charlestown Second Graders learned a little bit more about RESPECT through an assembly put on by J.P. Mascaro.
  • Tomorrow, March 1st, the entire Charlestown School Community will be celebrating Dr. Seuss’s birthday by doing various activities for Read Across America!  There will be guest readers, classroom door decorating and students can dress like their favorite book character.  A big THANK YOU to Charlestown’s Reading Specialist, Jamie Himmelberger, for creating this special day for all of us.

Read Across America (Celebrating Dr. Seuss’s Birthday)

When: Friday, March 1st (during the school day)
What: An opportunity for students to celebrate their reading lives and the books/characters they know and love!
How: Students can start the day off by purchasing Green Eggs and Ham for breakfast in the Charlestown cafeteria!

Students can dress up like their favorite book character!
Students will have the opportunity to listen to guest readers from our school and community throughout the day!

Thanks for supporting our students and their love of reading.
Happy Reading!

Jamie Himmelberger

Mrs. Hoyt and Miss Youk would like to thank those Reading Olympic members who submitted a drawing for our t-shirts this year! They were fantastic and hard to choose a winner! Thank you to Adam, Noah, Cooper, and Emma.

We would also like to congratulate our winner, Anna, who created a beautiful drawing that will be represented on our t-shirts for our competition! Great job everyone!

There will be a Student Council meeting on Friday, March 1st at 8:00 a.m. in Room 11. In the event that weather delays our school start time, there will be NO meeting.
Thank you,
Jen Gleason
