New Elementary Assistant Principal Named for GW & KDM
At its June 13 meeting, the Great Valley School Board approved the appointment of Kevin Bray as an elementary assistant principal. Bray will be assigned to both General Wayne and K.D. Markley Elementary Schools. His appointment provides additional leadership and support for the increasing populations seen in both schools.
Bray most recently served as an elementary assistant principal in the Lower Merion School District, a role he’s held since 2018. In that position, he was responsible for conducting teacher observations, creating schedules, and recruiting and hiring paraprofessional staff, support staff, tutors, and teachers. In addition, he worked to enhance student learning by cultivating a culturally responsive, positive school climate and developing the social-emotional skills of students. Bray has prior experience as a special education coordinator, instructional support teacher, and special education teacher.
“I look forward to working with the families, talented staff, and committed leaders at both General Wayne Elementary and K.D. Markley Elementary,” said Bray. “As a leader who is dedicated to supporting students in the development of healthy habits and behaviors to promote social/emotional and academic growth, I value community and look forward to making connections and building meaningful relationships. I am excited for the new journey and opportunities ahead in Great Valley.”
Bray earned his undergraduate degree and his Master of Education in Reading from Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania.
