At its meeting on May 17, the Great Valley Board of School Directors approved the appointment of Khristina Hunt as the supervisor of instructional technology. That role has traditionally provided leadership and technical expertise to the planning, implementation, and evaluation of effective technology that supports instruction, K-12. Hunt will collaborate with school administrators to coach, train, and be a resource to staff in their professional growth and use of technology and data.

Hunt most recently served as coordinator of instructional technology for the Brandywine School District in Wilmington, DE. In that role, she provided leadership and support for teachers to implement technology initiatives, including blended learning, with a focus on improving student engagement and achievement. She also previously worked as a K-12 instructional technology coach at the Avon Grove Charter School, and as an instructional coach in the Downingtown Area School District. She was also a teacher of business, computers, and financial literacy.

“Today’s students must be prepared to succeed in an ever-changing technological environment,” said Hunt. “We want students to use technology to raise awareness, make a difference, drive change, find answers to their questions, and make connections.” Hunt said that she would like to empower teachers to consider how technology can drive student learning experiences to enhance and extend content-specific learning goals. “The Great Valley School District has already created a strong foundation for instructional technology,” said Hunt. “I am looking forward to collaborating with all stakeholders to create engaging, personalized learning experiences for all students.”

Hunt earned her Master of Educational Leadership and her Master of Secondary Teaching from Wilmington University. Her undergraduate degree in science business administration is from Goldey Beacom College. She will join Great Valley School District in July.
