* School Starts at 8:50 am.
The official start of the elementary school day will be 8:50 a.m. This is only five minutes earlier than in the past, but will provide us with additional instructional opportunities for students. Parents may not drop students at school prior to 8:35 a.m.
Beginning this year, students will only be permitted to ride the bus to which they are assigned for the year. This is a safety decision for our students and applies to both the elementary and secondary schools. By only allowing a student to ride the bus to which they are assigned, we increase our ability to know which students are on a given bus on any day. In the event of an emergency or accident, this more accurate accounting will allow us to identify students more promptly, increasing our ability to notify parents in a timely manner. Again, our students’ safety was the main criteria in making this decision.

In an effort to enhance our school visitor procedures, the Great Valley School District has purchased the Raptor Visitor Management System for all its buildings. The Raptor system is a web-based software that scans a visitor’s driver’s license, checks for registered sex offenders, and prints a visitor’s identification badge which includes the visitor’s driver’s license photos.
