School Climate Surveys

Great Valley School District uses the PA School Climate Survey (PSCS), designed by the Pennsylvania Department of Education Office for Safe Schools (PDEOSS), to measure the culture and climate of our schools. The three domains that the PSCS focuses on are Social Emotional Learning, Student Support, and Safe and Respectful School Climate. This data helps us understand what we are doing well and identify areas where we can improve to create a more positive and supportive learning environment for all students. Principals and administrators review individual school data with staff and use that data to inform goal-setting and decision-making. PSCS data is also used to inform district-wide initiatives related to student support and culture and belonging, and to guide professional development.

For survey reports, please contact communications@gvsd.org.

Fall 2025

Great Valley School District will be administering the PA School Climate Survey (PSCS) to students in grades 3 through 11 from December 1 to December 12, 2025.  The survey will be conducted online, anonymously, during the school day, and is available in both English and Spanish. A printed version of the survey will be available to any student who might need it.

We believe that student feedback is essential for continuous improvement. However, we respect your right to make decisions regarding your child's participation. If you do not wish for your child to participate in the School Climate Survey, please complete the Opt-out Form by November 21, 2025.

If you would like to know more about the content of the survey, please contact Theresa Marsden, Director of Communications, at tmarsden@gvsd.org.
