Bus Transportation

  • Students who are legal residents of Great Valley School District are eligible for transportation.  According to Pennsylvania law, students may be required to walk up to 1-1/2 miles (elementary) or 2 miles (secondary) to their assigned bus stop.  The administration tries to minimize walking distances and riding times whenever practical.  Policing bus stops and the supervision of students between residence and bus stops is the parent’s responsibility.

At the beginning of the school year, students should be at their assigned bus stop ten (10) minutes prior to the scheduled time.  Once school has been in session for approximately three (3) weeks and any adjustments have been made to the bus route and pick-up time, students should be at the stop five (5) minutes prior to pick-up.  If the student is not at the bus stop when the bus arrives, the driver will not wait.

Student behavior on the bus is expected to be the same as in the classroom.  To report behavioral concerns, please contact your building principal.

If you have moved, you must make this address change with your child's school in order to receive the correct busing information for your new address.

  • School Closings

The decision not to open the district schools means that all transportation for public and nonpublic students is suspended. Any nonpublic student whose school is in session must provide his own transportation to and from school.
