    Dear Parents/Guardians:

All Great Valley Middle School sixth, seventh, and eighth grade students will take the Pennsylvania System of School Assessment (PSSA) test next month.  The test will be given at the middle school in the morning on the following dates:

    ·       Language Arts:  April 23, 24 and 25

    ·       Math: April 29 and 30

    ·       Science (Eighth grade only):  May 2

We ask for your assistance with the following:

Ensure that your child gets a good night’s rest before the assessment.
Remind your child to take time to thoughtfully answer and review all responses. The PSSA is not a timed test.
Remind your child to bring a PCR book to read while waiting for the assessment period to end.  Electronic devices including, but not limited to, cell phones, Smart Watches, FitBits, iPods, Nooks, Kindles, and iPads are not permitted.

Make-up testing sessions will be scheduled during the school days following each regularly scheduled testing window for students who are absent or who arrive late to school on any of the dates above. Note that students who arrive late on testing days will be directed to wait in the library until the test session is complete. In addition, students may not leave a test session once it has begun; if you need to pick up a student on the testing days, you will be asked to wait until the test session has ended.
