Hello First Grade Students and Families! My name is Miss Dore and I am so excited to be teaching first grade at Charlestown Elementary School! Here is a little bit about me...This is my fourth year teaching at Charlestown. Previously, I taught first grade at the State College Area School District and I taught English to all elementary grades in Montpellier, France.I graduated from Penn State University with a degree in Elementary Education and minors in French, International Studies, and Human Development & Family Studies. I wrote my Schreyer Honors College thesis about Critical Literacy in the primary classroom. I am also a proud Great Valley alumna, class of 2013.
When I'm not teaching, I love to dance, explore nature, listen to music, travel, and spend time with my family, including our Corgi puppy named Nina. I also love to read and my favorite author/illustrators are Eric Carle, Brad Meltzer, and Kate DiCamillo. What do you like to do for fun?We are going to have a great year together! I can't wait to learn all about you and your family this year!
