Welcome to Fourth Grade!
A little about me:
My name is Jen Gleason and WELCOME to the new school year! It is my 18th year teaching at Charlestown Elementary in the Great Valley School District. I have worked as a fourth-grade teacher for twelve years. My experience also includes teaching fifth and third grades. I hold several certifications in the field of education. I completed my undergraduate work in Elementary Education at Millersville University. Shortly thereafter, I obtained a master’s degree of Education in Curriculum and Instruction with an emphasis in Science from Penn State University. A few years later, I became certified in Middle School Math and Science content areas. I’ve continued to grow in the field of education through ongoing professional development. In addition to teaching, I am a proud mom of four young, energetic children. Their ages are 9, 7, 5, & 3! We love spending time as a family reading, running, playing outside, and watching movies.
Your child’s experience with me is very important. I aim to model and support a learning environment that encourages academic and social / emotional growth. I think this can best be achieved by setting and revising goals, along with building relationships to promote a positive community of learners. I have a solid educational foundation and will work tirelessly to achieve this learning environment. In addition, I will encourage your child to uphold the Pillars of Character. This includes all students being Responsible, Respectful, Caring, Fair, Trustworthy and a good Citizen. I strongly believe a child’s character, academic interest, successes/challenges, and relationships will positively impact our school, local, and global communities.
Having a partnership is important in maximizing the success of your child. With that said, I look forward to building a relationship with each family this year as well.
