    2019-2020 Great Valley High School Physical Education

    Mr. Phillips-  General PE, Sport Specific, Personal Fitness & Walking for Wellness

         This Physical Education-General PE class is offered during the Fall and Spring Semesters.  The class meets three times a cycle.  There is no pre-requisite for signing up for this class.  Any level of ability is welcomed.  Students in grades 9 and 10 will meet three times per cycle for the entire school year while students in grades 11 and 12 will meet three times per cycle for one semester.
         The Great Valley Physical Education curriculum offers a variety of courses/activities throughout the year.  These activities include: Personal Fitness, Wall Climbing, Intense Lifetime Fitness, Collaborative Indoor Games, and Collaborative Outdoor Games.

         2nd Marking Period-  Personal Fitness/Indoor Collaborative Games (Basketball, Volleyball, Speedball, Pickle Ball, Floor Hockey, & Indoor Soccer)
     
    Spring Semester: General PE

    This course focuses on physical fitness and individual goal setting through personal fitness assessment and collaborative activities. Students will actively engage in a multitude of fitness and collaborative activities while focusing on the improvement of motor skills, application of game strategies, and enhancement of group interaction. In addition, students will strive to improve both health-related and skill-related elements of fitness through participation in these activities. Activities offered include but are not limited to: running/walking program, weight training development, soccer, flag football, ultimate Frisbee, basketball, floor hockey, volleyball, speed ball, tennis, softball, kin-ball, and wall climbing.
    This course may be repeated.
