SECOND GRADE NEWS

	Second graders explore the artists Henri Matisse and Alexander Calder. They become aware of the differences between freeform and geomtric shapes. Students learn how to incorporate two- dimensional shapes into three- dimensional forms to create sculptures.
Students create sculptures out of paper using free form shapes and geometric shapes.


Second Graders Display the Weather! Students make connections to art and their second greade science curriculum!!!

Students create a Mexican Bark Painting
Students work together on a class mural!	Students explore art throughout the community with the use of technology and the SmartBoard!
