GV Board of School Directors Reaffirms Commitment to Equity
At its meeting on June 29, the Great Valley Board of School Directors passed a resolution that reaffirms the District’s commitment to building a school community characterized by equitable practices and inclusive and respectful learning environments.

Board Approves Appointment of Assistant Superintendent
At its meeting on June 8, the Great Valley Board of School Directors approved the appointment of Dr. Joanna Wexler as Assistant Superintendent for the Great Valley School District. Wexler will assume the position currently held by Dr. Daniel Goffredo, who will advance to the role of Superintendent in July.

At its meeting on June 1, the Great Valley Board of School Directors approved the appointment of Dr. Daniel F. Goffredo as the new superintendent for the Great Valley School District.

Board Adopts Budget for 2020-2021
At its meeting on June 1, the Great Valley Board of School Directors adopted a budget for the 2020-2021 school year. By lowering non-program expenditures by $2.5 million, the Board was able to limit its budget increase to 1.22%, which is significantly below the Act 1 Index of 2.6%. With a millage rate of 21.81, Great Valley's tax rate is the lowest of all Chester County school districts in the current year.

Board Names Acting Superintendent
The Great Valley School Board announced it has appointed Assistant Superintendent Dr. Daniel Goffredo as Acting Superintendent in the School District, effective for the 2020-2021 school year. The announcement comes as Superintendent Dr. Regina Speaker Palubinsky accepts a new position as Executive Director of the Montgomery County Intermediate Unit, also effective beginning in July.

The Great Valley School District is aware of a petition circulating in our community that is based on erroneous and partial information. In response to the information we have received, we want to clarify that there is absolutely no discussion related to cutting programs. Feasibility Study
In response to growing enrollment and the aging infrastructure of its schools, the Great Valley School District is working with the architectural firm SCHRADERGROUP of Manayunk to facilitate a feasibility study.

Coffee with the Superintendent
Parents district-wide are invited to attend a casual conversation with Superintendent Regina Speaker Palubinsky. Hosted by the Parent Key Communicator group, the coffee is an opportunity for parents to meet their school's PKCs and to engage in conversation around a featured topic. Outstanding Alumni Inducted to Wall of Fame
As part of its Homecoming celebration on Fri., Oct. 18, the Great Valley School District inducted three outstanding alumni to its Wall of Fame. Wall of Fame Inductees for 2019 are: Kathryn J. Barrett (Class of 1972), W. Eric Shrader (Class of 1975), and Scott C. Hennessy (Class of 1977).

Community Invited to Participate in Facilities Planning
This fall, the community is invited to join the District in future facilities planning. To set the stage and establish a baseline understanding, the findings of a recent data collection process will be presented. Two additional "workshop" sessions will generate community conversation, where discussion will focus on future facility needs, allocation of resources, and an anticipated schedule for building improvements.
