8th grade students have just finished a poetry unit in English Language Arts.  After reading Langston Hughes' classic poem, "Mother to Son", students wrote their own extended metaphor poems about life.  Additionally, 8B students tried the challenge of writing a tritina-a poetic form that relies heavily on repetition.  We wanted to share just a sampling of the outstanding student work with the GV school community.
