Mayan Art and Clay Vessels
We begin 6th grade art by studying the art
of the Mayans. We will design our own
clay vessels and learn the slab building
technique to construct one of our designs.
Pacing: We will be working on this unit
for three weeks.

We will study Janet Fish and Wayne
Thiebaud, to learn about artistic style
and still life drawing.

We learn about the artwork and history
of artists Elizabeth Catlett and Kathe Kollwitz.
We will also learn about the printmaking
process and create our own series of prints.
