Tips for searching databases for literary criticisms
- First do a simple search for just the title of your book with "quotations around the title"
- Then use the databases filter functions to narrow your results
- First see if there is a filter to specify your author's name (important because there are sometimes books with the same name and you need the database to know which one you mean.)
- Next find the filter to narrow results by source type: "literary criticism" or "literary analysis"
- i.e. NOT biographies, book reviews, overviews, etc
- Finally you can add some simple keywords that relate to your thesis to further narrow the results if needed.
