• Searching JSTOR for Literary Criticisms

JSTOR is not specifically a literature database, so finding literary criticisms is not quite as easy to do on JSTOR as it is to do on the other, literature-specific databases. But it can be done, and JSTOR DOES have excellent sources.

You can also see a video tutorial for using JSTOR here.

    1. First make sure you log in to JSTOR
    2. Next type the title of your novel in "quotes" and click "search"

    3. You need to find an article that is a literary criticism.
      1. You DO NOT WANT ANYTHING LABELED AS "REVIEW"

      2. It does not always specifically state whether the source is a literary criticism or not. JSTOR has results that range in type, so not every result on your result page will be a literary criticism.
