Searching JSTOR for Literary Criticisms
JSTOR is not specifically a literature database, so finding literary criticisms is not quite as easy to do on JSTOR as it is to do on the other, literature-specific databases. But it can be done, and JSTOR DOES have excellent sources.
You can also see a video tutorial for using JSTOR here.
- First make sure you log in to JSTOR
- Next type the title of your novel in "quotes" and click "search"
- You need to find an article that is a literary criticism.
- You DO NOT WANT ANYTHING LABELED AS "REVIEW"
- It does not always specifically state whether the source is a literary criticism or not. JSTOR has results that range in type, so not every result on your result page will be a literary criticism.
