Fine and Visual Motor
Elementary (K-5):
- Push toothpicks into a spice container or push coins/bingo chips through a slotted lid (can make a thing slice through a plastic lid)
- Thread cereal, beads or noodles on a lace or pipe cleaner
- Drop dry beans into small containers
- Position washers onto screws
- Paint with small squares of cut up kitchen sponges
- Press push pins into a bulletin board

- Maze worksheets (try to stay between the lines)
- Dot to dot worksheets (be sure to touch each dot)
- Color by number worksheets
- Find the Difference worksheets
- Word Searches
- Use tweezers, salad tongs or similar items to pick up cotton balls or pompoms from the table/floor and release them into a cup
- Cut strips of paper, curved or zig zag lines, shapes or designs (reminder: use a thumb up grasp with thumb in small loop); can use different thicknesses to increase challenge (e.g. printer paper, card stock, card board, etc.)
- Cut straws into pieces, then make a necklace
- Weave a paper plate (punch holes, then weave string through the holes)
- Hide or press small objects in dough/putty, then find the objects hidden inside the dough/putty
- Replicate block designs (parent or sibling makes a design out of Legos or blocks, then child replicates)
- Lite Brite or peg board activities
- Puzzles (consider completing at a table while sitting on an exercise ball or lying on belly supported by forearms to incorporate strengthening)
- Pop beads or other manipulatives, such as Legos
Secondary (6-12):
