• 2018-2019 Survey Summary:

    Family Survey
    Overall, the school district heard from more than 1,100 families. Data compared to the previous year’s survey shows a consistent trend in overall ratings, with slight increases district-wide in Culture and Relationships.

    • Family members of students at Great Valley School District elementary schools were surveyed about their perceptions of their school in terms of Culture, School Safety, Engagement, Relationships, Resources and Facilities, and Communication and Feedback. Elementary family members provided the highest ratings on Relationships and Culture, while the lowest rated topics were Engagement and Communication and Feedback.
    • Family members of students at GVMS were surveyed about their perceptions of their school in terms of Culture, School Safety, Engagement, Relationships, Resources, and Communication and Feedback.  GVMS family members provided the highest ratings on Relationships and Culture, while the lowest rated topics were Engagement and Communication and Feedback.
    • Family members of students at GVHS were surveyed about their perceptions of their school in terms of Culture, School Safety, Engagement, Relationships, Resources, and Communication and Feedback. GVHS family members provided the highest ratings on Relationships and Resources, while the lowest rated topics were Engagement and Communication and Feedback.

    Student Survey
    Students in grades three through 12 were surveyed in the fall of 2018. Because students were surveyed as part of the school day, response rates were close to 100 percent. Data from last year to the current year remained consistent overall, with no large increases or decreases in any area of the survey.

    • Students in Great Valley elementary schools were surveyed about their perceptions of their schools in terms of Engagement, Academic Rigor, Instructional Methods, Relationships, and Culture. Students provided the highest ratings on Engagement and Relationships, while the lowest rated topics were Culture and Academic Rigor.
    • Students at GVMS were surveyed about their perceptions of their school in terms of Engagement, Academic Rigor, Relationships, Belonging & Peer Collaboration, and Culture. GVMS students provided the highest ratings on Academic Rigor and Culture, while the lowest rated topics were Engagement and Belonging & Peer Collaboration
    • Students at GVHS were surveyed about their perceptions of their school in terms of Engagement, Academic Rigor, Relationships, Belonging & Peer Collaboration, Culture, College & Career Readiness, and Academic Support Services. Students at the high school provided the highest ratings on Academic Rigor and Belonging & Peer Collaboration, while the lowest rated topics were College & Career Readiness and Engagement.


    Staff Survey
    Staff members at all Great Valley School District schools were surveyed about their perceptions of their school in terms of Culture, Engagement, Relationships, and Professional Development & Support. Staff members at all levels provided the highest ratings on Relationships and Engagement, while the lowest rated topics were Professional Development and Support and Culture.
