In response to growing enrollment and the aging infrastructure of its schools, the Great Valley School District is working with the architectural firm SCHRADERGROUP of Manayunk to facilitate a feasibility study of its current buildings and to make future recommendations for facilities. The firm has been working over the past several months to gather and interpret all relevant information.
The Great Valley community has been invited to join the District in this planning. To set the stage and establish a baseline understanding, the findings of a recent data collection process were presented in October 2019. Additional "workshop" sessions and a review/overview presentation generated community conversation, where discussion focused on future facility needs, allocation of resources, and an anticipated schedule for building improvements.
Various alternatives continue to be discussed which include grade structures, as well as capital building projects. This process will culminate in a comprehensive master plan for the District to follow for the next five to ten years.
