About Me-My love of world cultures started at a young age with parents who loved to travel the world.  When I wasn't able to come along on their many trips, my parents brought back their adventures to Europe, Mexico, Australia, and Hawaii through photographs, artifacts, and exciting stories.  

     My interest in the world continued in school while I studied the Russian language in middle and high school and later while studying French and Spanish in college. I have been lucky enough to personally visit Europe, Canada, and much of the United States.  My job as an ESL Program Specialist allows me to visit more cultures than I could have imagined just by teaching and learning from the wonderful English language learning students of the Great Valley School District!

Teaching Background-I have been in the education field for about 25 years.  My early teaching experience began in Southern California working with kindergarten through twelfth grade students in English as a second language(ESL), general,and special education classes. Later, my family moved to Pennsylvania, and while my children were small, I substitute taught and attended graduate school, and taught ESL for the West Chester Area School District. I love teaching for the Great Valley School District, first as KD Markley's ESL/ELD Teacher and now in my eighth year at Great Valley Middle School as an ESL/ELD and language arts teacher.

Mi amor por las culturas del mundo comenzó a una edad temprana con padres que amaban viajar por el mundo. Cuando no pude acompañar sus muchos viajes, mis padres trajeron sus aventuras a Europa, México, Australia y Hawai a través de fotografías, artefactos e historias emocionantes.

Mi interés en el mundo continuó en la escuela mientras estudiaba el idioma ruso en la escuela intermedia y secundaria y más tarde mientras estudiaba francés y español en la universidad. He tenido la suerte de visitar personalmente Europa, Canadá y gran parte de los Estados Unidos. ¡Mi trabajo como especialista en programas de ESL me permite visitar más culturas de las que podría haber imaginado simplemente enseñando y aprendiendo de los maravillosos estudiantes de aprendizaje del idioma inglés del Distrito Escolar de Great Valley!

Antecedentes de la enseñanza: he estado en el campo de la educación durante aproximadamente 25 años.
