Honors Algebra 2

  • Course Description: Honors Algebra 2 is a brief review of Algebra 1 concepts but in greater detail, and new topics are added which are necessary for future study of Algebra. More emphasis is placed on theory and applications. Topics include: linear/quadratic equations and inequalities with applications; systems of equations and inequalities with applications (including 3 variables); matrices with applications; polynomials; rational exponents; rational functions, complex numbers; exponential and logarithmic functions with applications; conic sections; sequences and series. Topics needed for the SAT will be covered in this course. Students will use graphing calculators in this course. Students are encouraged to take the Math I Subject Test upon completion of this course. It is recommended that students take the test as close as possible to the completion of Honors Algebra 2 (May or June exam dates).
