Who decides if a Great Valley child is gifted?
Either parents or school personnel can refer a child residing within the Great Valley School District for screening. Parents, simply contact the home school through the school psychologist.
The testing process includes an intellectual scale administered by the school psychologist. The process can take up to 60 school days.
Who are considered to be gifted children?
In the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, mentally gifted students include those with a superior intelligence and who also meet additional criteria set forth in PA Department of Education Chapter 16 Guidelines.
