GUITAR CLUB Q&A

1. Who can join guitar club?

Any middle school student can join guitar club.

2. What do I need?

You will need an acoustic guitar, ukelele or similar acoustic (non electric) instrument. We do not have extra guitars this year.

3. Is this guitar lessons?
NO. We facilitate guitar club and can play a little guitar, but are not substitutes for real music lessons.

4. So what is guitar club?
Guitar club is a club for students who share an interest in acoustic guitar and/or similar instruments. This is a great opportunity to meet with and get to know fellow musicians. It is a great opportunity to trade knowledge, play music, make new friends, and have fun!

5. What commitments will be expected of me?
After we establish a meeting day (depending on when students and facilitators are available), you should be prepared to attend club from 2:35-3:05.

You should know how to play a little or be taking lessons outside of guitar club (see #3).

You should be playing guitar outside of guitar club (lessons, bands, practicing with videos, books, etc...)

You should have goals in mind for our meetings. Ex) To work with 2 other students to play "Smoke on the Water," or "Work with a partner to learn barre chords," etc...

6. We hope that by the end of guitar club (the week before spring break) that each student can work with a group of others to give a performance. We'll work out the details closer to spring.

7. When does guitar club start and end?

Guitar club begins after fall sports ends. Our last meeting as a group will be the week before spring break.
