In our classroom, we use a clip chart color system to monitor our behavior and our choices. You child will have a numbered clip that they will physically move up or down the chart, depending on his or her behavior choices. Everyone begins each day on green regardless of the previous days color! Your child’s clip may or may not move each day. The chart below each color on the clip chart:
Students who consistently make positive choices throughout the day, clips will move up to the purple section.
“Ready to Learn”
Students will start each day on green. If clips remain here, the students are doing a nice job! Keep it up!
“Warning! Stop and Think”
Students will receive a warning for poor choices, clips will move down to help remind them to think about their choices. Clips will move back to yellow as the students show they are in ready mode again.
If poor choices continue, their clips move to the orange section. Students may be moved from a group activity, lose manipulative/equipment (if miss using), miss recess, fill out a behavior form, etc.
If a student still choose to make poor choices after moving to orange, their clip will move to red. The teacher will call or email parents to discuss behavior/consequences.
