Welcome to our third grade year! This communication contains FYI material that is important to know prior to the start of the year. I hope it is helpful. If you have any questions, I can be reached at firstname.lastname@example.org or (610)889-1978 ext. 1208.
Snack: Chip Wood (Yardsticks, 2000) tells us, “All ages of children will benefit from having a snack (or snacks) in their school day.” Each morning and afternoon, the children will be given time to eat a small snack. Please try to send your child to school with a healthy snack (ex. fruit, cheese, veggies) keeping in mind that if any snacks need to be cut up, it needs to be done at home. In addition, snack that are sent into the classroom need to be peanut and tree nut free. Students are invited to begin this routine on the first day of school!
The first day of school: On the first day of school, be sure to check your child’s backpack for a folder containing important information, including a letter outlining our classroom schedule and a few central school procedures.
Thank you for your time, and I very much look forward to our third grade year together!
