PTO Committee Descriptions
Set-up/clean-up and book sales in the Fall or Spring.
Family Fun Events
Help coordinate and volunteer at fun school events (bingo, movies, dance, talent shows) for families and staff.
Help with organizing, set-up/clean-up, helping with preparations of refreshments and food for Sugartown events (Staff and Volunteer Appreciation events, Teacher Appreciation Week, Teacher Surprise Breakfast). Maintain and organize paper goods and supplies for PTO events.
Students in 1st-3rd grades work with Legos and motors; 4th-5th grades work with Legos and NXT Robotics. Volunteers act as team parents and coaches. Time commitment and meeting location are flexible.
Read Across America Event
Assist in this nationally recognized program, which benefits children and parents by encouraging family reading.
School Reward Programs
Assist with “redeemable for cash” programs such as Box Tops Program, Amazon Smile and Giant A+ Program.
Help stock, organize and staff the school store, open to students once a week during school lunch hours.
Help assemble themed class baskets, which are raffled off at the Spring Fair.
This carnival night is one of the largest fundraising events for the PTO and requires many volunteers to chair committees help with set-up/clean-up, man booths and sell food items.
Become an ambassador to new Sugartown families! As an ambassador, you can help new families and their students feel welcomed to our school.
Help coordinate school wide community service opportunities.
Sugartown Night Out
Work with local businesses to coordinate a monthly dining or shopping night where a portion of each order supports Sugartown.
Sugartown Pride Fall Festival
A night out for Sugartown families including auction of school pride items, silent auction, Family Dance, and more. ,
Wellness Committee & Fitness Club
The Wellness Committee is dedicated to the development of lifelong wellness practices to help our kids get fit, healthy and ready to learn. We serve as a resource for implementing current school wellness initiatives, new and innovative ways to educate the Sugartown community on healthier lifestyle choices.
Assist in the collection of photographs, etc. for the publication of a yearbook for 5th graders.
