Day 6 - Wednesday, 9/4 - Today we discussed physical vs. chemical properties, performed a quick sparkler demo, and then students worked on ChemQuest 1A on changes in matter and classifying matter.     HW - 1) Optional extra credit game deadline is 7:30am Tomorrow.   2) Finish CQ1A if not completed in class.  3) Study/memorize 40 chemical symbols.

    Day 5 - Tuesday, 9/3
    - Today we took the safety quiz, took introductory notes on Unit 1, and then students worked on reviewing/learning about experimental design by completing the activity in their white packet.     HW - 1) Returned signed safety contract by tomorrow. 2) Finish experimental design work on pages 2-4 if not completed in class.   3) Optional extra credit game deadline is Thursday.

    Day 4 - Thursday, 8/29
    - Today we learned about the safety equipment in room 112 and how/when to use it.  We then simulated a few emergency situations.    Afterwards, students explored 27 pieces of lab equipment that we will use this year and tried to determine the names/purpose of each piece of equipment.  Afterwards we discussed and watched a video on kitchen safety/grease fires.   HW - 1) Study for Lab safety quiz on Tuesday.  2) Returned signed safety contract by Wednesday.  3) Optional extra credit game deadline is Thursday.

Day 3 - Wednesday, 8/28 - Today we had a guest presenter "Mr. Care Less" perform a chemistry demonstration for our class.  We then discussed safety rules that we need to follow and then watched a short video on lab safety.  When finished, students worked on the MSDS activity.   HW - Complete the "About Me" video on Canvas due by Midnight.  2) MSDS assignment due tomorrow.   3) Lab safety quiz on Tuesday.
