END OF THE YEAR LUNCH ACCOUNT BALANCES

The food service department will keep account balances for all students over the summer.  If you are moving or require a refund for any reason, a refund must be requested in writing by a parent or guardian. Refund requests can be presented to the cafeteria coordinator.

All students must have a zero or positive account balance on the last day of school. All debts must be paid.

Senior Class: All debts to the cafeteria must be paid prior to graduation.

Seniors who need their cafeteria account balance refunded or transferred to a sibling must come to the cafeteria and fill out a form by Wednesday, June 5th.

Great Valley School District Food Service follows the Traditional school lunch pattern with Offer vs. Serve option.  The Traditional school lunch pattern requires Food Services to offer the following menu options.  Offer vs. Serve requires the student to take at least three (3) of the five (5) menu options.  Students must take a fruit or a vegtable as one component.

1 Serving of meat or meat alternative
                                          1 Serving of fruit
                              1 Serving of vegetable
1 Serving of bread or bread alternative
                                          1 Serving of milk

Great Valley Food Service offers a variety of menu selections each day.  We believe by offering a wide variety of selections students will be able to select healthy menu choices.  Each student must select a minimum of three (3) components and a maximum of five (5) components for the each meal.  Students must take a fruit or a vegetable as on component.  Please note that a la carte items are not included in the price of a meal.  A la carte items such as bagged  snacks, ice cream, bottled water and other beverges other than milk are not included.

We are proud to follow the voluntary Nutritional Standards for Competitive Foods in Pennsylvania Schools.  These standards were enacted into legislation as part of the School Code for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania in order for school districts to voluntarily strengthen the nutritional integrity of their school menus and a la carte offerings.
